BEAUTY: The Body Shop Haul

Happy Tuesday! Today I am sharing a few products I have recently purchased from the Body Shop.

1. Strawberry Shower Gel 250ml
2. Brazil Nut Shower Gel 250ml

Both of these shower gels smell amazing! They feel amazing on the skin and the smell actually lasts outside the shower (unlike most amazing smelling body washes). The scent of the strawberry shower gel is so sweet and fresh and the Brazil Nut one is my favourite and reminds me of the smell of a vanilla milkshake for some reason. It will be a good Christmassy scent, perfect for the holidays.

3. Watermelon Lip Balm 10ml

I mentioned this product in my August favourites as I have been loving it for the past month. I use this lip balm almost everyday. It smells amazing just like everything else from the body wash and keeps my lips feeling moisturized without the sticky, thick feeling most lip balms leave.

4. Makeup Brushes

I purchased three makeup brushes. The Face & Body brush, that I use to apply my powder foundation and blush. The Eyeshadow brush, that I obviously apply my eyeshadow with. I have used this brush a couple times and it is taking me a bit to get used to. I feel like it doesn't hold my eyeshadow very well and I can't get thick vibrant coats on my eyes. Unfortunately, I don't think brush is meant to be used with powder eyeshadows. The last brush I purchased is the Slanted brush. I use this brush for my eyebrows at it is perfect, I love using it.

LIFESTYLE: Leaving university and moving home

In the beginning of August I travelled back down to the Sunshine Coast to start my second semester of University. On the way down we stopped at my Grandma and Grandads house, in Murgon, for a visit to break up the 12 hour trip. I got to ride a horse for the first time in my life and hanging out at the farm with my cousins etc. was really nice.

We finally got down to the coast, Mum and I stayed at an apartment on the beachfront of Caloundra, the view was spectacular!

We couldn't stay at my apartment because it would have been too crowded with my other three roommates. So mum stayed with me for about a week then travelled back home, I was really upset when she left and just felt really empty. Days went on I was just really sad being alone, I tried to make some friends and joined a Hip Hop class and went to a couple of parties. I made a few friend that I went to class with and hang out with but I still felt lonely. I couldn't wait for Joseph to hurry up and come visit.

A few weeks went on I was very upset, just feeling lonely and not very happy with where and who I was living with. I didn't know what was wrong with me. Joseph finally came down, which I thought would help, but I just hated being in my apartment I had grown to really hate my room and I was a bit of a mess. Joseph and I began looking at different options for me like moving to a different university closer to home or online study. This all kind of got my hopes up, but were quickly let down when I realised there was almost no chance of happening.

A couple days after Joseph left I called my mum and made the decision, "If I can get a job back at home in the next seven days I'm coming home to study externally online!". So that night I put my name down at Woolworths because I noticed they were looking for Replenishment Team Members. I thought, wow! this would be the perfect job for me, as I could study through the day and go to work at night. Also, It was good pay. The next morning I woke up with an email, Woolworths had requested an interview with me. THAT WAS IT IM GOING HOME! I was so excited.

I literally had that  afternoon to pack up my little Barina and tell my roommates I was leaving. The next morning I woke up at 3AM and drove straight home 12 hours and was home that afternoon. It was a very quick decision but I knew that was the only thing that would make me happy. I hated all the drinking, and drugs down the the coast. The university was really good but I couldn't find anybody I was really connecting with. I had friends but I still felt so alone. I felt as if I wasn't doing anything with my life. I was just going to Uni 2 days a week then sitting around my apartment for 5. None of my subjects were what I wanted to do. I want to become a Web Developer/Designer and I was taking Advertising and Communication classes, it felt like such a waste of time.

So now I am at home. Studying a Diploma of Website Development, a 40 minute drive away from my boyfriend, saving $200+ a week from rent and I actually have a job! I started work last week and got my third shift tomorrow. Right now, I feel like I am at the happiest I could be. I love being able to be around people who care about me and I'm am so glad I am away from the "city" and its motorways. Here are a few photos from my past week.

BEAUTY: Lipsticks you need!

I think that lipstick is one of the funniest things to explore with just after eye shadow. I wear lipstick every time I go out with makeup on and I have just realised I tend to stick to the pinky reds. I feel that I need to step out and explore the purples and reds but that can be another post. Today I thought it may be helpful to share my current favorite lipsticks that I rotate through, maybe to give a bit of inspiration.

From left to right

1. Revlon Colorburst Lipstick - 096 Petal ($23.95 AUD - Myer)
This is my everyday go to lipstick, it is such an easy colour to wear and always goes with my other makeup and outfit.

2. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick - 465 Plumalicious ($21.95 AUD - Myer)
I usually wear this on a night out or during winter. It is probably one of my lease worn out of the four because of the dark/boldness. But when I do wear it I love it.

3. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick - 815 Fuchsia Shock ($21.95 AUD - Myer)
This is my second favorite and most worn. I wear this out clubbing all the time and is just a really fun colour to wear. I always get comments when I wear it.

4. Lancome L'Absolu Rouge Lipstick - Exotic Orchid ($30.50 AUD - Myer)
This is a recent purchase I actually got as a gift for spending money on Lancome's facewash and I am so happy with it. This is probably the reddest lipstick I own and I like to wear it out for dinner and events. It is such a mature colour and I'm still getting used to it, but I must say this lipstick is so moisturizing and will definitely be looking at Lancome's lipsticks for my next purchase.

FAVORITES: August 2015

Alot has gone on in this past month and im glad it's over now. Today I have a little roundup for you of my favorite things from August. This month I have been loving the simple things, I'm learning how to be happy again and right now my life couldn't be better.

One thing I have been kinda obsessed with is my nails. I picked up Cutex's Diamond Extra Hard Nail Polish so I can keep my nails hard so I can grow them out. I apply this nail polish 2-3 times a week and it's working a treat (I'll keep you posted on my nails progress).

My second favorite thing I've picked up this month is Matrix's Colour Care Silver Shampoo. This shampoo brightens and neutralizes unwanted yellow tones and believe it or not I went back to the hairdressers with blonder hair than I originally left with. This shampoo really wow'd me and recently I dyed my hair an ashy grey/brown colour and this shampoo it keeping the ashy grey tones looking good.

I went to the supermarket the other day to buy some coffee satuals. I usually stick to Nescafe's Caramel/Vanilla Lattes and this month I wanted to try something else so I chose the Mocha and I love it. I'm not much of a coffee drinker but this coffee is definitely worth a try!

I picked up a candle from Kmart a while ago it's a creamy vanilla, tuberose and orange blossom fragrance. That sounds like a crazy mix and when you first smell it, it is a little bit confusing but now I love it. I don't burn my candles I just let them sit with the lid of and it keeps my room smelling so nice. It is the perfect scent for Winter and I cant wait to smell it again next year. Might even pull it out in December for Christmas.

Now, doesn't everyone love Marc Jacobs perfumes. I have had this one forever and I have recently just started using it again this month and I'm obsessed with it (and my boyfriend loves it also). Go grab yourself some ladies!

Finally, The Body Shop. Must I say any more? There watermelon lip gloss is amazing I have been using it almost everyday since my lips have been getting so dry lately. If you have never been to a  Body Shop shop you must! There body lotions are also very nice.

What were your favorites this month?
